KALA KUWAIT
– ‘NIRAM 2008’ Held with Pomp and Pride
Kuwait:
All roads led to Khaitan, venue of
"NIRAM 2008". There was a festive air prevailed over there, and the sunny and serene weather
with cool breeze was also a great blessing. A world of colours and lines were blooming.
"NIRAM 2008",
the popularly known painting
competition was held in Indian Community
School, Khaitan with pomp and pride by KALA Kuwait on Friday, 14th
November. NIRAM 2008, was held as a
part of Children's Day celebrations marking the 119th
birth day of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,
the first Prime Minister of India.
There were more than a Total of 1,700 entries out of which 1,444
children took part in the competitions. The parents
actively participated in the open canvas item and Clay
Sculpture was also an item with difference. Gift packets were
distributed to all children immediately after the competition.
The program were
inaugurated by Mr. Rajan Daniel, Honorary Secretary, Indian
Community School. Mr. K. T. Muhammad Rabiullah, Managing Director of Shifa
Al-Jazeera Medical Center, was Chief Gust. Artist Sreenivasan was
opened the open canvas painting. Kala Kuwait President Mr. Sugathan Panthalam
Chaired the function. Mukesh Vanpulli, General Secretary of
Kala Kuwait
delivered welcome speech. Mr. Muhammad
Rabiulla delivered
the free consultation card of Shifa Al-Jazeera Medical
Center for
children on the occasion.
The result of the Competition will be
announced by organizing committee as well as the judging committee on 6th
December 2008 through leading news papers and also websites www.kalakuwait.org
or www.indiansinkuwait.com.
The organizers have expressed their fullest
satisfaction on the successful holding of the Competition. They have
thanked all children, parents, management and teachers of all
Indian schools in Kuwait and representatives of various Indian
socio-cultural organizations in Kuwait for
actively participating and supporting the competition by flatly
rejecting the campaign of certain elements in disguise. KALA Kuwait is now very
happy that it has once again proved beyond doubt that it
upholds the very interests of all art lovers in Kuwait and work for
the promotion of Art (kala). Students and their parents are fully
familiar of 'NIRAM', and they can no longer be hoodwinked as this
is the forth consecutive year KALA Kuwait has been successfully holding
the painting Competition on the occasion of Children's day, according to Mukesh Vanpulli, General
